On Off On? Yes please!

Alright boys and girls, here's Jonny! (oh, the humanity!... but it had to be done!!)

This here's my first contribution to the wonderful diary of Mr. Jones. But I hope to be staying round for a lot more!

OK! So there are a few names pricking up my ears at the moment, but I particularly want to start off with OnOffOn!
With his brand-spanking new remix of Digitalism's Magnets, and tasty other mixes of such artistes as Stardust (Bangalter and Braxe) and 80s cheesemeister's, Tears For Fears, this youngfella is definately on my radar!
OnOffOn or Andrew Verner lives in LA and has residency in some local clubs, so for now you'll just have to enjoy from afar (unless you're lucky enough to live in California!). He has been producing electro for the past few years but has only started remixing over the last year. And I, for one, am delighted as his mixes are savage!
Here are a few for your ears to enjoy!

Who Wants to Ride The Cox???

For the past few months now i have been getting into the more energetic side bassline music which would have a bit of kick in it and have something to make the crowd go wild. I discovered one artist which I've nearly loved every tune that he has produced this of course if Bryan Cox with remixes of Headshotboyz "Exodus" or even the his latest one from Drop The Service "Shacks".I feel this man knows whats goin and has what people need. I look forward to new releases from Bryan in the near future and hope to see him play here in Dublin soon.

Here below is his latest remixed tune from Drop the Service - Shacks (Bryan Cox Remix)

The Birdy Song

The Birdy Song

My transition from Hip-Hop to Blogland was a fairly quick one. I
put this down to one man, Bird Peterson. For a solid 2yrs now,
everything this chap has put out has been on point. For the
uninitiated, Bird hails from Austin, Texas, is a frequent poster
over on Low Bee’s Hollerboard and Djs with the likes of Craze and
Dave Nada. A recent review of his latest EP states ‘Bird Peterson
is on some next level millennium buck rodgers party stomping
madness action for that ass’. And who am I to argue with
that!!! It’s the crossover between 90s Hip-Hop anthems and wonky,
fat basslines that gives his tunes the distinct Birdy sound and
he’s worked his magic on everything from Naughty By Nature to
Herbie Hancock.

Below are two of my favourites along with his new banger, a remix
of Busta’s equally heavy “Don’t Touch Me”

Naughty By Nature - Feel Me Flow (Bird Peterson Mix)

Mos Def - Ms. Fat Booty (Bird Peterson Mix)

Busta Rhymes - Don't Touch Me(Bird Peterson Mix)

New Sinden Mix

Sinden has uploaded a new mix for all you kids to get your filthy little mitts on. Its part of the we make it good series and can be downloaded here- http://wemakeitgood.com/article/live/shilo-presents-sinden

It was always going to be hard to compete with the 2 previous DJ mixes in the series (large up Pretty Titty, Chris Devlin) but i managed to surpass them (haha jokes!). Nah serious that’s too bold a claim, but I am happy with how it turned out. Its a fair representation of some of the jams i’m playing in my club sets right now. And the mix is very ‘right now’. As I write this, none of the tracks have been released yet. Not that I just play dubs, mind. I draw loads of old and familiar tunes, too, because that would be dumb and who cares how exclusive you are anyhow. I really wanted the mix to be a kinda preview to a whole bunch of stuff to get excited about in the forthcoming months. It was a good place to air some new productions fresh out the HD (machines dont care, the count and sinden) and big up a few new cats too (rude kid, detboi, mujava). Enjoy!

Tracklisting is as follows-

1) DON RIMINI – RAVE ON EDIT

2) HERVE – CHEAP THRILLS (ARMAND VAN HELDEN REMIX)

3) LITTLE BOOTS – STUCK ON REPEAT (FAKE BLOOD REMIX)

4) THE KILLS – CHEAP AND CHEERFUL (FAKE BLOOD REMIX)

5) MACHINES DONT CARE – DROP IT TO THE FLOOR

6) TIGERSTYLE – BALLE SHAVA FEAT VYBZ KARTEL, NIKITTA & MANGI MAHAL (SINDEN REMIX)

7) DETBOI – JUMP UP AND DOWN FEAT SEROCEE

8) HERVE – THE CHAMP

9) THE COUNT AND SINDEN – HARDCORE GIRLS FT RYE RYE (DOMINO CDR)Next single!

10) SAM SPARRO – 21 ST CENTURY LIFE EDIT (THE COUNT AND SINDEN SIDEWINDER REMIX)

11) BUSY P – PROTECT AND ENTERTAIN (CROOKERS REMIX)

12) MUJAVA – TOWNSHIP FUNK

13) BURAKA SOM SISTEMA – KALEMBA FEAT PONGO LOVE (HOT CHIP REMIX) (GRECO ROMAN CDR)
